Aly L. Fry Partner

Aly Fry is a partner in Swainson Miki Peskett’s corporate commercial group specializing in corporate, employment and intellectual property law. Aly is known for her pragmatic, holistic, and solution-focused approach. She advises businesses across a broad range of industries, working closely with clients to understand not only their legal needs, but the commercial realities that drive their decisions.

In her corporate practice, Aly assists clients with business formation and structuring, corporate governance matters, and the drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial agreements, including distribution, supply, manufacturing, and franchise agreements. She advises on corporate reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions, providing practical guidance that supports both growth and long-term sustainability.

Aly also maintains a robust employment law practice, applying corporate and business principles to help employers manage workplace issues effectively and proactively. She advises on employment contracts, terminations—including wrongful and constructive dismissal matters—employment standards compliance, human rights issues, and occupational health and safety obligations. Aly further assists employers with the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures, workforce restructuring and integration, restrictive covenants, and workplace investigations.

In addition to her corporate and employment work, Aly is a registered Canadian Trademark Agent and advises clients on a range of intellectual property matters. Her experience includes trademarks, copyrights, licensing arrangements, research agreements, and software agreements, allowing her to support clients in protecting and commercializing their intellectual property assets.

Aly is valued for her practical mindset and her ability to deliver clear, business-focused advice. She works as a trusted advisor to her clients, helping them navigate complex legal issues with confidence while advancing their strategic and operational objectives.

Outside of her practice, Aly enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and can often be found camping or on the golf course when time permits.
