Commercial real Estate & lending paralegal
Position Details
We are seeking a Commercial Real Estate & Lending Paralegal with 3-7 years of experience in a law firm providing commercial lending and real estate transactional services.
Job Duties
Duties Include but are not Limited to:
• Managing high volume of commercial lending files including physical filing, diary dates, closing dates, and preparation of reporting documentation.
• Obtaining searches and completing registrations/filings with Land Titles Office, Personal Property, Corporate, and Tax Registries.
• Preparation and distribution of monthly account statements to clients.
• Drafting, assembling, and organizing commercial lending and purchase/sale documents.
• Advanced editing and formatting skills for correspondence and documents.
• Correspondence with clients and opposing counsel to progress the file.
• Admin duties, as needed.
Qualifications
• Completion of Legal Assistant/Paralegal program or 5 years relevant experience.
• Exceptional client servicing skills.
• Strong organizational skills and extraordinary attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Robust knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management software.
COMMERCIAL LITIGATION ASSOCIATE
Position Details
We are seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with 3-7 years of relevant litigation experience.
Associate Expectations
• Interest in Commercial Litigation
• Good-standing member of the Law Society of Alberta or a member of another Canadian Law Society and eligible for admission to the Law Society of Alberta
• Carry out all aspects of litigation files and tasks, including in relation to pleadings, legal research, record production, questioning for discovery, and court appearances
•Engage in written and oral advocacy in court, arbitration, and administrative proceedings
• Time management skills including ability to balance competing demands and time-sensitive tasks
• Self-motivated to aim for a final work product that exceeds expectations
• Commitment to the highest level of client service and professionalism
• Strong work ethic & inter-personal skills
